Blackett's Lighthouse

Description

DescriptionPhotographs of Blackett's Lighthouse and the accompanying information plaque. This lighthouse was designed by marine engineer, John Blackett, and came into service in 1878. From 1878 until 1970 it was the main harbour navigation light. Originally located on Le Crens' Terrace (now The Terrace) it was moved in 1980 to a new site at Māori Park.
