Alternative NamePeel Forest StationDescriptionPeel Forest Estate is located near the town of Geraldine in South Canterbury, New Zealand. It was established in 1853 when Francis Jollie took up a run at Peel Forest. In 1859 he married Jane Cooper and started constructing the homestead. After Jollies death in 1870 the station passed to his step son, Edward Cooper who in 1878 sold it to a partnership of Dennistoun and Co. and the Messrs Smith. By 1903 The Dennistoun family were the sole owners. The station remained in their hands until 1987 when it was purchased by Graham Carr.External LinkTimaru District Libraries catalogue' search 'Peel Forest Estate'Geolocation[1] Geo Address1, Brake Road, Geraldine, New ZealandSubjectStations and RunsEarly Settlers
