Alternative NameDominion Fertiliser Co-operativeDescriptionIn 1977 there were two private companies supplying New Zealand farmers with superphosphate. One of those companies, Kempthorne Prosser, then announced it was buying its rival, Dominion fertilisers. Frustrated by rising costs, farmers were concerned at the creation of a monopoly. As a result, a new co-operative was formed - Ravensdown. The new co-operative mounted a takeover bid of Kempthorne Prosser and began trading as Ravensdown Fertiliser Co-operative in 1978.External LinkRavensdown: Our historyGeolocation[1] Geo Address56, Dominion Road, Seadown, Timaru, New ZealandSubjectIndustriesAgriculture
