West End Park

Alternative NameOldway ParkDescriptionWest End Park was established in Timaru’s West End by the early 1920s and was initially referred to in The Timaru Herald as 'Oldway Park'. The park was progressively developed through the efforts of the West End Ratepayers’ and Improvement Association, which from 1924 advocated for gates, playground facilities, and general beautification. A formal opening ceremony and gala was held in October 1928. By 1930, the reserve was commonly known as West End Park.
