Alternative NameŌtipua WetlandsŌtipua CreekDescriptionŌtipua Creek flows into Saltwater Creek on the south edge of Timaru in South Canterbury, New Zealand. It was important to local Māori for the rauwiri (pā-tuna) located there.
The Otipua Wetlands are an area of wetland restoration on the south side of Timaru, adjacent to State Highway One. Many years of community efforts have seen the creation of a four hectare lake, extensive plantings of native trees and shrubs, restoration of wildlife habitats, and the creation of walkways and interpretative signage.
