The Timaru Poisonings

DescriptionThe Timaru Poisonings scandalised a nation back in 1886. Well respected 'man-about-town' Thomas Hall was jailed for the attempted murder of his wife, Kitty Hall, by poison. He had planned to get her inheritance to pay his debts, incurred through his dodgy business dealings, including forgery and embezzlement. It was later discovered he'd also murdered his father-in-law, Captain Henry Cain.
